The Chinese Studies program at Xiamen University has a long history of academic excellence since its establishment in 1921. Esteemed scholars such as Lu Xun and Lin Yutang have been part of the teaching staff for this program. We are supported by the Humanities College, which includes nine research institutes and fifteen research centers. The college publishes several high-quality academic journals, such as China’s Social and Economic Historical Research and Taoism Research.
It has been honored as the “National Talents Training and Research Base for Fundamental Studies in Humanities” and recognized as a “National Quality Courses” provider by China’s Ministry of Education, becoming a leader in education in the fields of Chinese linguistics, literature, history, and philosophy.
Our program at Xiamen University Malaysia aims to produce graduates who are proficient in Chinese, possess a deep understanding of Chinese linguistics, literature, history, philosophy, and culture, and can apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations. We expect our graduates to find rewarding employment in education, mass media, commerce, and cultural sectors.
