Many people do not realize that the foundation of advanced AI systems, including robotics and software/hardware-based security systems, is rooted in computer algorithms. Algorithms consist of methods and procedures used to address computing problems, applicable in both research and industry. Both AI and security systems significantly depend on the advancement, proliferation, and implementation of these algorithms in computer systems.

The Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Technology (Honours) program aims to provide a solid grounding in mathematics and computer science, equipping graduates to adapt swiftly to the rapidly changing landscape of algorithms and the computing industry. Graduates are expected to create innovative methods for implementing computing algorithms or to investigate new applications of computer technology. The program also imparts knowledge about computer systems—covering both hardware and software—through a curriculum based on the principles of computer systems engineering.

Entry Requirements

STPM  

  • A pass in STPM with at least a Grade C (GP2.0) in Mathematics AND 1 Science/ICT subject
