As technology advances, computing systems are increasingly enabling interconnected and powerful services across nearly all aspects of life. However, the rise of new cyber threats and attacks makes it critical, yet challenging, to maintain the security of these systems, leading to a significant demand for cybersecurity professionals.

The Bachelor of Engineering in Cyber Security (Honours) program at Xiamen University Malaysia is designed to address this growing market need. This program provides graduates with the essential knowledge, technical expertise, and critical thinking skills necessary to tackle a wide array of complex computing and cybersecurity issues.

The curriculum, derived from that of the main campus, includes major core courses that cover both the theories and practical applications of cybersecurity. These courses encompass vital topics such as information assurance, network security, data security, and societal and organizational security. Additionally, students engage in common core courses that relate to mathematics, computer science, software engineering, and artificial intelligence.

By offering a comprehensive range of relevant subjects, the program prepares graduates to be knowledgeable and skilled professionals capable of excelling in computing and cybersecurity roles. Moreover, graduates will be well-prepared to continue their postgraduate studies at top universities around the world.

Entry Requirements

STPM  

  • Science Stream : A pass in STPM with at least a Grade C (GP2.0) in Mathematics AND 1 Science/ICT subject
  • Non Science Stream : A pass in STPM with at least a Grade C (GP2.0) in any 2 subjects AND a credit in Additional Mathematics in SPM or its equivalent
