The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) program at Xiamen University (XMU) was founded in 1956. Over the past 60 years, it has produced more than 20,000 graduates from over 50 countries and regions, who have made notable contributions to the advancement of TCM in China and Southeast Asia.

The program is supported by the Medical College at XMU, ten affiliated tertiary hospitals (the highest level in the Chinese hospital classification), and over 20 hospitals and centers that provide teaching and internship opportunities in Xiamen, China. It also boasts a faculty of 315 professors and associate professors.

The Medical College has established more than 50 teaching departments and research institutes, including the Cross-Strait Technology Platform for Traditional Chinese Medicine (Xiamen), the National Medical Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center, the National Institute for Data Science in Health and Medicine, and the Cancer Research Center. Key research areas include TCM studies in Fujian, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia, information-based research in TCM, TCM tongue diagnosis, rheumatism and neuroimmunity in TCM, and the modernization of TCM practices.

Entry Requirements

STPM  

  • Science Stream :A pass in STPM with at least a CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 AND Grade C (GP 2.0) in any 2 Science subjects
  • Non Science Stream : A pass in STPM with at least a CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 AND Grade C (GP 2.0) in any 2 subjects, AND credit in any 2Science subjects and Mathematics in SPM or equivalent.
