The Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science and Technology at Xiamen University Malaysia is the first PhD programme offered by the School of Computing and Data Science (SCDS). It is designed to nurture talent in innovative, cutting-edge research for the next generation of researchers.

This PhD programme welcomes students from diverse computing backgrounds, including (but not limited to) Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Digital Media Technology, and Software Engineering. The programme covers advanced areas such as Algorithms & Theory, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Software Technology, Databases, Parallel Computing, and Networking and Distributed Systems.

Additional topics include Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Digital Media Technology, Computer Graphics, Multimedia Information Retrieval, Computer Security / Cyber Security, System Security, and Network Security. Students deepen their expertise through rigorous research projects, collaboration with respected faculty mentors, and access to modern facilities and resources.

By participating in these activities, students expand their knowledge while developing critical research skills and methodologies needed for leadership roles in both academia and industry.

Entry Requirements

• A Master's degree (Level 7, MQF) in the field of Computing or related fields as accepted by the HEP Senate.
